Hostel - Hostels can be a very affordable
and adventurous way to travel. It gives the traveler
a unique opportunity to meet other fellow travelers
that share their sense of adventure, swap stories,
and make new friends.
Galina's Flat - 921 6038. The name says it all - flat. A private flat with some extra rooms Galina rents out. There are a total of 6 beds, but apparently she can make arrangements with neighbors if her place is full. Kitchen and Internet facilities are available here. It's a very hospitable place to stay. It’s centrally located near downtown.
G & R Hostel Asia - 378 0081. Situated on the top floors of an old hotel on the outer East Side of Moscow, this is one of the better budget options. The management can also book train tickets and the like.
Hotel Sherstone - Fax 797 8075. www.sherstone. ru. Located in Outer North Moscow, it is a branch of the G&R hostel Asia. Services include visa support, free transfers, from the railway station, and discounts for members of the International Youth Hostel Federation. It is a 10-minute walk minute walk from Vladykino Metro.
Art Hostel - 251 2837; 275 1513. www.arthostel.net. This is a prime location. A 2-minute walk from the Belorusskaya Metro.It is located in a student hostel run by babushkas. Rooms are well appointed and facilities include a modern kitchen, microwave, and a wash machine. However, the hostel is open December 15 through March 1st and from July 1st through September 10th. There is a 1 a.m. curfew.
Traveler's Guest House - 951 4059. Located in Outer North Moscow, it calls itself "Moscow's first and only" budget accommodation. With no frills, it is a 10-minute walk from Prospekt MIA Metro. Rooms and shared toilets are clean and basic but there is almost always space available. It is affiliated with Infinity Travel Agency, which offers all kinds of useful services.
Prakash Guest House - (334 8201).
Located in Outer South Moscow, it is just a minute
or so walk north of Balyaevo Metro. Private rooms
come with breakfast; TV, phone, and some rooms share
a bathroom and a toilet. Use entrance 2 on the south
side of the building. There are no signs.
