Moscow
Weather -The weather in Moscow can be extreme
for each season of the year. The cold season can be
bitterly cold, and the heat can be overpowering. In
the winter months, you will find men in the stereotypical
fur hats and the woman in fur coats. The brutal cold
months from November to April can bring average temperatures
to 20 degrees Fahrenheit or lower. The summer months
can be very hot and humid in Moscow. Because of the
sheer number of people (8 million or so) and the amount
of smog and pollution created by so many vehicles
creates a lot of ozone. This traps a lot of heat in
the city.
Moscow is warm from about mid-May
to early September. Summer is long because of its
location in the northern latitudes. Autumn is brief,
and by the end of November, Moscow is frozen most
of the time. Serious snow arrives in December until
late March / early April.
July and August are the warmest months and also the
wettest. During these months it can rain as much as
ever one out of three days.
